Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Expert.com.jm ("Expert", "we", "us"), a Jamaican scheduling and payments platform. By creating an account or using the platform to make or receive bookings, you agree to these Terms.

The service

Expert lets professionals publish a booking page, manage their availability, take appointments, and receive payments. Clients can book and pay for a professional's services. Expert facilitates scheduling and payment collection; the professional is solely responsible for the services they provide.

Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Professional accounts are intended for legitimate Jamaican professionals operating within our approved categories.

Acceptable use

You must not use Expert for any prohibited purpose. Permitted categories and prohibited uses are set out in our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Violations may result in immediate suspension and the withholding of pending payouts pending investigation.

Bookings, payments, and fees

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Dimepay. By booking, clients agree to that provider's handling of the transaction.
A platform fee applies to bookings; the current fee and the total payable are shown before payment. Professionals can view their fee tier in their dashboard.
Payouts to professionals are made to the bank account they provide, subject to verification. Payout timing and any manual processing are described in the dashboard.
Cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds are handled between the client and the professional. Professionals are responsible for setting and honoring their own policies.

Google Calendar integration

Connecting Google Calendar is optional. When enabled, your busy times can hide overlapping slots on your booking page, and confirmed bookings can be added to your calendar. Our access to Google data is described in our Privacy Policy. You may disconnect at any time from your settings.

Availability and accuracy

We aim to keep availability and bookings accurate, but scheduling depends on data from you and connected services. We are not responsible for missed, double-booked, or incorrect appointments arising from inaccurate information, connectivity issues, or third-party service outages.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Expert is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Expert is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts, omissions, or quality of services provided by professionals or clients using the platform.

Termination

You may stop using Expert at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, or where required to protect the platform, its users, or our payment provider.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Expert after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
